Our youth sports programs offer a supportive environment where kids can make new friends, learn new skills, explore interests, and grow. With guidance from caring adults, participants experience the joy of teamwork while building character, fostering friendships, and most importantly—having fun!

Our Youth Basketball Skills & Drills is designed to develop fundamental basketball skills, build teamwork, and foster a love for the game in a positive, supportive environment. Open to boys and girls of all skill levels, our league emphasizes skill development, sportsmanship, and fun. Whether your child is a first-time player or looking to take their game to the next level, they’ll enjoy a great mix of practice and competition, all while making friends and staying active.
Basketball Skills & Drills classes available each Spring & Fall. Youth Basketball Leagues run each Summer & Winter.

Learn the fundamentals of hockey in a safe, exciting hockey setting. Players will put their stick handling, passing, shooting, and teamwork to the test while participating in league games.
League format. Registration is for a 12-week session.

CHAMPS is a fun and engaging program designed to help children ages 3-5 build confidence and develop important motor skills through a variety of movement-based games and activities. Each week features a new theme or set of playful challenges that encourage running, jumping, balancing, throwing, kicking, and teamwork all in an energetic, supportive environment.

Ages: 6 – 8
Kids in the Y’s soccer program learn what it means to be part of a team. Early in the season, players focus on skills, such as dribbling, passing, and shooting. Inside or outside, based on weather.

Our Youth Flag Football program is the perfect way for kids to learn the fundamentals of football in a fun, non-contact environment. With a focus on teamwork, sportsmanship, and skill development, players will build confidence while enjoying exciting, fast-paced games. Established nearly 30 years ago, our Jaguars Track program offers young athletes an exciting opportunity to explore a variety of track events, specifically targeting running and agility. Participants will improve overall endurance, speed, strength, and coordination through activities like sprinting, distance running, agility drills, and more. Whether your child is a beginner or an experienced athlete, this program helps build endurance, fitness, confidence, and a love for the sport in a supportive team environment.

Each spring and fall we offer youth archery and youth ropes programs! These programs are designed to help kids develop skills, build confidence, and have fun in an active, outdoor environment. Whether they're trying it for the first time or honing their skills, participants will enjoy expert instruction and plenty of time to practice and play.

Safe & Strong: Youth Krav Maga
Ages: 7-14
Location: Downtown YMCA - Tappan gym
Help your child build confidence, improve awareness, and develop practical self-defense skills in this fun and engaging six-week Krav Maga program. This course teaches children how to recognize unsafe situations, make smart decisions, and respond confidently while emphasizing that the best defense is to avoid conflict whenever possible.
Students will learn age-appropriate techniques through interactive drills and games that promote focus, discipline, respect, and teamwork. The program also reinforces important life skills such as standing up to bullying, using a strong voice, setting personal boundaries, and knowing when to seek help from a trusted adult.

Location: Pleasant Street Branch - Field (Will be moved indoors if needed due to weather)
Golf & Games provides participants with the opportunity to learn the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to play the game of golf while improving their abilities through experienced instruction. Led by First Tee Certified Instructor and Massachusetts Certified Golf Teacher Ryan Donnahue, this unique program combines golf skill development with fun games and activities to create an engaging experience that builds confidence, encourages physical activity, and fosters a lifelong love of the game.
