What would the Y be without water? Water exercise, masters level swimming, and adult swim lessons (it’s NEVER too late) are just some of the water-based activities you’ll find at the Attleboro Y.


Masters Swim

Ages: 18 and older

Looking for a group to motivate you to swim more laps? Want to swim faster and more efficiently with less effort? Then join our Masters program! This dynamic group of individuals range from novice lap swimmers refining their skills to veteran swimmers looking for a challenging workout.

Each practice will focus on proper stroke technique in order to increase efficiency and endurance training to increase aerobic capacity. For more information, contact coach Kate Hewitt at khewitt@attleboroymca.org or Noreen Foley at (508) 409-0737.

Triathlon Training

Challenge yourself to become a triathlete or learn to train like one. Take eight weeks to let our triathlon training coach educate, inspire and motivate you to reach that finish line.

Group sessions and personalized training programs improve your running, swimming, and cycling abilities. Participants will meet on Saturday mornings for workouts and educational information.

Week 1: Introduction, what to expect, 20-min. track workout, 20-min. core
Week 2: Get in the water! Basic drills and swim tips for the big event.
Week 3: Time to ride. Let’s shoot for 10 to 12 miles.
Week 4: 3-mile run followed by more core work and a good stretch.
Week 5: Back to the water with lots of laps to build endurance.
Week 6: Combo Workout #1: Swim to bike
Week 7: Combo Workout #2: Bike to run
Week 8: Combo Workout #3: Swim, bike, run. Our own mini tri!

Homework and indvidual training can be done throughout the week with other members or on your own. All fitness levels are welcome. At the end of the program, participants may choose to compete in a race together.

Both the Downtown and Pleasant Street branches offer at least one lane for lap and fitness swimming during all hours the facilities are open. Check out our Schedules Page for pool schedules and lap lane availability.
