The YMCA Personal Trainers have what it takes to create strong and healthy bodies. Our personal training is individually tailored to fit your particular body and goals. You will learn what actually works to achieve your fitness goals in the most efficient, direct line ap­proach.

For the month of May, our trainers are offering a Personal Training Special:

Triathlon Training

Challenge yourself to become a triathlete or learn to train like one. Take eight weeks to let our triathlon training coach educate, inspire and motivate you to reach that finish line.

Group sessions and personalized training programs improve your running, swimming, and cycling abilities. Participants will meet on Saturday mornings for workouts and educational information.

Week 1: Introduction, what to expect, 20-min. track workout, 20-min. core
Week 2: Get in the water! Basic drills and swim tips for the big event.
Week 3: Time to ride. Let’s shoot for 10 to 12 miles.
Week 4: 3-mile run followed by more core work and a good stretch.
Week 5: Back to the water with lots of laps to build endurance.
Week 6: Combo Workout #1: Swim to bike
Week 7: Combo Workout #2: Bike to run
Week 8: Combo Workout #3: Swim, bike, run. Our own mini tri!

Homework and indvidual training can be done throughout the week with other members or on your own. All fitness levels are welcome. At the end of the program, participants may choose to compete in a race together.

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA

LIVESTRONG at the YMCA is a free 12 week program that connects cancer survivors within the community.  It provides a place where cancer survivors can come together, along with specially trained Attleboro YMCA staff, to safely work toward maintaining or regaining their independence, everyday fitness, and overall health & wellness.  It is held in a small group environment that incorporates one-on-one attention to the individual needs of each participant.

Yoga Warrior

For combat veterans with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Combat Stress Injury

This beginner series is designed to introduce the fundamentals of yoga with an emphasis on positive affirmations, yoga postures, breath work, guided imagery, relaxation techniques, and beginner meditation. Class is instructed by a certified yoga instructor with special training in PTSD.

Small Group Training

The Attleboro YMCA offers a va­riety of small group training op­portunities to members. Small group training offers you a chance to participate in a special, limited duration class with a special goal or activity in mind. You will partici­pate with three to six other par­ticipants under the coaching of a Personal Trainer. Small group training offers you a chance to work with a Personal Train­er at a very affordable price. The small group training sessions can be focused on a specific sport train­ing, strength training, body building, flexibility training or core training. The possibilities are endless. TRX® Suspension Training

TRX® Suspension Training gives participants an edge over con­ventional strength training. Ev­ery exercise in suspension train­ing builds functional strength, improves flexibility, balance and core stability all at the same time! By working with your own body weight, your workout fo­cuses on the human body as an integrated system. One-on-one training or group training avail­able.

Attleboro Y Run Club

Attleboro Y Run Club

The mission of the Attleboro Y Run Club is to promote, practice, and enjoy the endless benefits of running and walking as we support each other in our personal fitness goals. Join our run club for fun runs, training runs, and group travel to area races. Great socialization and run partners for all levels. Eat Live Play

Eat Live Play targets adults who could benefit from in­creasing their physical activity and healthier eating options. A YMCA Eat Live Play coach will help the participant assess their wellness lifestyle and help them make choices that will lead to reducing unhealthy risk factors associated with inactivity and poor nutritional habits. Coach/ Participant training sessions are weekly by appointment.

Body Composition Test

Using state-of-the-art technol­ogy, our new Body Composition Analyzer uses bioelectrical im­pedance to generate a compre­hensive report of your lean-to-fat ratio. This new device and com­puter program guarantee 98% accuracy!

Massage Therapy

The Attleboro YMCA is pleased to introduce Massage and Muscle Therapy at the Downtown Branch. Massage offers drug-free, non-invasive and humanistic approach to health and well-being based on the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

Fee: One-hour treatment:

Reiki

An ancient Japanese healing method, Reiki works with the body’s energy system to promote health and well-being. Reiki can be beneficial for clients who are struggling with insomnia, depression, digestion, headaches, and regular aches and pains.

Family Conditioning Walks/Runs

Everyone at their own pace! For Adults and Kids all ages. Choose from 3 options:
1. Participate in a 1 mile group walk
2. Walk 2 minutes, run 20 seconds…repeating over the mile course.
3. More Daring? A 1- or 2-mile group run.
